Show and Tell Thursday: A day early

A Despised chair, nestled. Isn't it bachelor pad appropriate? Please note how fetching it appears in the playroom. It usually has piles of blankets and play cloths on it.

The ridiculously uncomfortable chair, with leg rest unfurled. Looks comfy, doesn't it? WRONG! This chair is guaranteed to give you a rib-wrenching backache in no time.

Sunset over the skeeter-breeder, to take my mind off that dreadful chair.

ACK! Here's it mate! Yes, in the 'library' ('it's a store room', she says in an embarrassed whisper) And - what's that - yes, it's oodles and gobs of towels, the ones recommended by Joke!

Why all the towels when we already have these, you ask! Because I'm tired of the boys using these wonderful Espalma and Home Spa towels. They now have their Very Own Sage-y Blue popcorn textured towels, thank you. Blackbird, note the wear on the Espalma. Not bad, when you consider that these 4 towels get washed at least twice a week, in very hot water sometimes. In fact, I am going to sew over the edges of the Joke towels so make them last longer. I think that's the key to towel wear - the edges wear long before the loop.

Yes, I'm posting a day early. Because look what happened last week when I waited! This was requested by Blackbird for Poppy.

But is it comfortable?

Oh, the bachelor items. Hoik 'em out when no one is watching!

What happened to the dry-cleaning, by the way?

Sorry, the first time I read this I didn't catch that you actually bought the Joke towels. Are they actually as absorbent as he claimed? Do tell!

mf - dry cleaning results TBD. Good news is that I have received a call. Bad news is they want more money - GAH! I told her we would discuss it when I picked up the items today.
sl - The towels are only half-laundered (the pile on Dreadful Chair are awaiting the laundry, which is now waiting for either washer repair or new machine). The ones that have been laundered are fluffy and soft, but still have their sizing. I'm going to wash them with baking soda and Oxyclean to strip the rest of the chemicals off the fibers. I bet they will then be the sponges as reputed! For the price, I am very impressed.

they are truly the chairs of men.
(I do like that expression 'hoik em' and so, you should)

I'd love to hoik 'em but there is no hoiking allowed for these chairs. Remember, these chairs have Danish Pedegrees. They have NAMES. Not like Elroy and Duke - something important sounding that I can never remember.

And 'hoik 'em' is a new one on me. I think I'll borrow that one.

It appears I've missed the towel hoopla...my husband just had ALOT to say the other night about the lack of absorbancy our new towel have...must go research.

And the chairs, um, at least you can stack the footrest. That's all the positive I've got.

Your's is bad but mine is worse and cheap to boot. Heh, heh.

Jenny, the towels un-sponginess can be fixed by washing in hottish water, with little detergent, lotsa baking soda, maybe a little oxyclean thrown in BEFORE the towels, and white vinegar used v. fabric softener. They may still need to be laundered twice. I've noticed that the 2nd washing has made mine 'almost' perfect. By 3rd or 4th, I will be suspecting the water from the faucets to be fairly LEAPING towards these towels.

and PJ, I take this to mean you are UP? And At 'em?

Oh, I was At em'at six o'clock. Just didn't have any electricity, air conditioning or COFFEE. Had to drag out the camp stove. Fun.

I thought those chairs were supposed to be incredibly comfy? I don't think they're as ugly as mine, though. Good luck with the drycleaning, and now I have to learn more about those towels.

I was going to post a few of my sunset pictures, but now I may be too embarrassed. Yours is fantastic.

I think that chair needs to get up and walk away one day.... I tend to clear house when my husband is away. Ha!
