As I am, today.

Hello, this is me at 53.
No makeup.
Lots of moisturizer.
No. Work. Done.
Ever.
blackbird did a post on women today.
Us Old Girls?
We are not invisible anymore.
We are being applauded for allowing age to happen.
I reckon I earned every line and wrinkle.
And most of them from laughing.

Okay lady, I just got the nerve a few days ago to take my picture and post it. It was my post for tomorrow, now I'll just look like a big fat copy cat;).

I even said in mine, this is me, no makeup, just as I am.

By the way we look like we could be related.

Hello, it's lovely to see you! I hope I look as good as you at 53.

SO nice to see the front of your head! not that there's anything wrong with the back...

And yes, like MF said: if only I can look so good.

You look lovely. Younger than me, and I am 13 years younger than you. I would kill for skin like that!

It's great that you've posted a picture. It's nice to "see" you :-)

Maybe you need to tell us all what brand of facial lotion you use. Hint hint.

Aw, you guys are too kind - and are benefitting from the lack of a close-up shot! The skin? She's not so pristine. Plenty of age spots, freckles, lines, wrinkles and butt-ugly WENS! YES! Like a Witch!

And too funny about the moisturizer comments! I was joking - well sort of - read a few posts back. I am skin care addicted. My current fave for 'ease and grease' (as in very quick to do and no greasy residue) is Costco Borghese. Yes, the whole skin care line. Don't know about the makeup as I don't use it.
I will say being completely broke from the ripe old age of 16 on (remember, I was a child bride who put worthless ex through 6 years of undergrad and grad) and never getting out to tan, plus being IRISH and all and Hello? Is red a tan? No? Okay, then...
Anyway, I think that saved my skin. My chest and hands look about 80.
But the nice comments surprised me! Thank you so much!
I just thought of something else; I was a skinny-minny until 44. Then I was pregnant off and on 'til 48. Including an IVF cycle, which packed 20 pounds on me. Which I have grown accustomed to. I am 5'5" and weigh about 170-175 depending on how much chocolate I can get in.

I like the borghese makeup except for the lip products. The shadows and mascara have a nice light feeling. That serum stuff feels amazing. I gave some to a friend, but I haven't taken the plunge to get some for myself. Even though it's a 'steal' at $20, it's still seems like a lot of $$. I'm way too lazy to use lotion, but I probably should start...
