It's Friday!
Did It SNOW today?
NO!
It
Is
Going
To
Snow --
Wait for it...
Saturday, Sunday AND Monday.
And it's cold and miserable.
What is that; six weeks in a row of snow? I'm done counting.
It better not be miserable and cold in Florida when we got there next week... Rain I can take. But ice storm or snow?
I Will Be seriously PISSED. (which is 'mad', not 'drunk' for all you English or Aussie folk out there)

Florida? Sounds like a good idea.
I know this doesn't compare, but I remember the year I moved back to Pittsburgh (ah yes, the winter of 94.) It snowed every night for two weeks. Then there was that lovely day some guy hit my car with his son's jeep. And then there was the day (Martin Luther King's Birthday) that my gas line froze. Oh, and then the day when it was 20 below zero and the govenor said that if your job wasn't necessary (you know, like the mail or firemen) you should stay home, INSIDE. And I tried to explain this to my boss (who probably wasn't intending to go in to work that day) and say, well, you know, the buses are breaking down...
But darling, you have been a saint about your crappy weather. ENJOY FLORIDA!!
What are you going to do in Florida if you don't mind my asking?
If you do mind, just ignore me asking.
Oh, we are visiting Ken's parents in Tallahassee, and then going to DeWorld (not my favorite place) for 3 days. Ken's dad has Parkinson's - he is so ill. It's so sad to see him sick as he's always been vibrant. What can you do?
I ordered an Orlando entertainment book, and saved $250 off rack rate on our hotel (a suite in Doubletree in downtown Disney, with 'heavenly beds' or something like that - everyone gets a good bed!) by using a code in the book! I have our days mapped out pretty well. We may try Epcot for a day, but probably not. I hope neither kid catches the character autograph hound bug - 2 kids in Parker's class have gone already this year, and both came back raving about all the signatures they got. YIKES! The boys were 3 and 4 last time we went. It will be different at 5 and 6.
I'm sorry about Ken's Dad. It is hard to watch our parents grow older, especially when they have health issues.
Part of it, for me, is that I feel bad for them. It doesn't seem like that long ago that they had no trouble getting around. Suddenly, it seems overnight, they have mobility issues.
I hope you enjoy Disneyworld. Are you going to get the "head of the line" pass or risk it?
